10-Day Memories of Kenya & Tanzania Mid-Range Safari

Itinerary

After an early morning pick-up, you will drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, located in the heart of the Great Rift Valley and lying across the equator south of Lake Bogoria. The park is world-renowned for its flamingos and is considered one of Africa’s natural wonders. It is also an important rhino sanctuary, protecting more than 40 black rhinos and over 60 white rhinos. Arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight will be at a lodge or camp.

Note: Accommodation can be upgraded or downgraded to suit your budget, with corresponding price adjustments

Begin the day with a morning drive to the renowned Maasai Mara National Reserve, one of the few remaining regions where wildlife continues to thrive in vast, undisturbed numbers. As the northern extension of the greater Serengeti Ecosystem, the Mara is famous for the seasonal migration of wildebeest, zebras, and their predators. You will arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive across the open plains.

Note: Accommodation can be upgraded to higher-end options or downgraded to more budget-friendly choices, with corresponding price adjustments.

After breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive in the renowned Maasai Mara National Reserve, with a picnic lunch served in the wild. The reserve is celebrated for its black-maned lions and remarkable wildlife density, making it one of the best places to spot the Big Five in a single day. Cheetahs are frequently seen and are notably relaxed, sometimes resting near vehicles or using them as shade while scanning for prey. For bird enthusiasts, the Mara is equally rewarding, with nearly 500 recorded species, including eagles, hawks, falcons, vultures, storks, bustards such as the Kori bustard, and colorful sunbirds.

Note: Accommodation can be upgraded to higher-end options or downgraded to more economical choices, with corresponding price adjustments.

Day 04 :
Maasai mara

After breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive in the iconic Maasai Mara National Reserve, with a picnic lunch in the wild. The reserve is famous for its black-maned lions and high chances of spotting the Big Five in a single morning. Cheetahs are often seen resting under vehicles or climbing onto roofs to scan for prey. Birdlife is exceptional, with nearly 500 species recorded, including eagles, vultures, storks, bustards, and colorful sunbirds.
Note: Accommodation upgrades or budget options are available.

Today you will transfer from the Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park via the Isebania border crossing. This transfer will take the majority of the day, but you will get to enjoy a game drive for most of it. In the afternoon you will game drive en-route to your tented camp. Evening game drives are also available. Note: Accommodations can be upgraded to higher level options or downgraded to more economic ones (price reduction).

As you crest the hillside, the vast Serengeti National Park unfolds before you, true to its name meaning “endless plains.” This immense ecosystem supports over two million large animals, including wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and major predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas, alongside smaller mammals and nearly 500 bird species. You will enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, with optional add-ons to Olduvai Gorge or a hot air balloon safari. Accommodation upgrades or budget options are available.

Enjoy an early morning game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater to spot active wildlife and witness a stunning sunrise. Return to camp for brunch, then transfer to Ngorongoro. With 2,000-ft walls and a vast crater floor, this natural sanctuary hosts exceptional wildlife, including the rare black rhino, flamingos, forests, swamps, and open plains. Mineral-rich soils support large-tusked elephants. An optional afternoon walking safari in the highlands may be available.
Accommodation upgrades or budget options available.

Very early in the morning, descend down to the crater floor for a day of wildlife viewing in one of the most incredible places on Earth. After a stop for a picnic lunch near the hippo lake, have more wildlife viewing in the afternoon then drive up the steep road out of the crater and transfer to Manyara for your overnight stay. You can also visit Tarangire instead of Manyara and we recommend it from June to September. Possibility to visit Oldonyo Sambu Maasai Village on the way to Manyara/Tarangire. Accommodation can be upgraded to higher level options (at extra costs) or downgraded to more economic ones (price reduction).

After breakfast, drive across the Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park for a full-day game drive. Explore lush acacia forests with baboons and blue monkeys, spot elephants, giraffes, buffalo, impalas, and hippos, and enjoy views of climbing lions and flamingos along the lake shore. In the afternoon, transfer to Arusha, or optionally continue to Amboseli for 1–2 nights before returning to Nairobi.
