7 Day Kilimanjaro – Climbing Kilimanjaro Machame route

7 Days 5 Nights

Overview

The Machame Route, often called the “Whiskey Route,” is one of the most popular and rewarding ways to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Approaching the mountain from the southern slope via Machame Gate, the trail offers rich variety, beginning in lush tropical rainforest, progressing through heath and moorland, crossing alpine desert, and finally reaching the arctic conditions of the summit zone.
This 7-day itinerary is well paced, with camps strategically positioned to support gradual acclimatization and improve summit success. On the third day, the Machame Route merges with the Lemosho and Umbwe Routes at Barranco Camp, adding dramatic scenery and a shared path toward the summit.
Upon arrival in Tanzania, you will be met at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your hotel. Meals included are breakfast and dinner. Later, your experienced guide will provide a detailed trek briefing and conduct an equipment check to ensure you are fully prepared. You will then rest overnight at the hotel, ready to begin your Kilimanjaro adventure.
