8 Days 7 Nights

This itinerary is perfect for travelers who want to witness the world’s greatest wildlife spectacle, the Great Migration - while exploring Tanzania’s most iconic northern parks. The journey focuses on the western Serengeti, where from May to July, millions of wildebeests and zebras make their dramatic crossing of the Grumeti River. It’s an awe-inspiring scene as the herds battle strong currents and evade massive Nile crocodiles, all while predators wait on the opposite bank. It’s nature at its rawest - powerful, beautiful, and unforgettable.

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your driver-guide and transferred to Arusha Planet Lodge, a comfortable mid-range lodge nestled in the heart of Arusha town. Take the evening to relax and unwind after your journey. Your guide will provide a short briefing about your upcoming safari, ensuring you’re well-prepared for the adventure ahead.

After an early breakfast, depart from Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive with a packed lunch. This park is famous for its large elephant herds and remarkable diversity of birdlife, especially during the breeding season. As you explore, you’ll encounter a variety of wildlife including lions, leopards, cheetahs, and occasionally the elusive kudu, oryx, and gerenuk.

During the dry season, vast herds of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles gather along the Tarangire River - a lifeline that attracts predators in thrilling scenes of survival. Later in the afternoon, you’ll head to your lodge to relax, enjoy dinner, and unwind after an exciting day in the wild.

After breakfast, depart for the legendary Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife destinations. Along the way, you’ll visit a Maasai village to experience the traditions and daily life of this proud and vibrant warrior community.

Upon arrival in the Serengeti, enjoy a scenic picnic lunch before embarking on an afternoon game drive across the endless plains. Between May and July, this region becomes the stage for one of nature’s greatest spectacles - the Great Migration. Watch in awe as vast herds of wildebeests and zebras brave the Grumeti River, navigating powerful currents and lurking crocodiles before facing the predators that await on the opposite bank. It’s a breathtaking display of instinct, courage, and survival.

Later, retire to your comfortable tented camp for dinner and a relaxing evening under the starlit African sky.

Rise early to make the most of a full day exploring the vast plains of the Serengeti National Park. Today’s adventure follows the great herds as they continue their annual migration, an awe-inspiring natural phenomenon where thousands of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles move in search of greener pastures, always shadowed by predators.

Throughout the day, you’ll experience the Serengeti’s unmatched diversity of wildlife. This is one of the few places on earth where you can encounter all members of the Big Five - lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, and buffalo - in a single park. Your guide will take you to the best viewing spots to capture the drama and beauty of the wild.

As the sun sets over the plains, return to your tented camp to relax and enjoy dinner, surrounded by the soothing sounds of the African night.

After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive in the Central Serengeti, a region famed for its high concentration of predators, particularly lions and leopards, which are often seen resting in the acacia trees or roaming the open plains. This part of the park offers excellent year-round wildlife viewing, with frequent sightings of elephants, giraffes, hippos, cheetahs, ostriches, and even the elusive pangolin.

After a picnic lunch in the Serengeti, you’ll begin your scenic drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, passing through rolling hills and Maasai villages along the way. Upon arrival, settle into your tented camp, enjoy dinner, and rest in anticipation of tomorrow’s exploration of the world-famous crater.

After an early breakfast, descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, often called the Eighth Wonder of the World. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to nearly 30,000 animals, including the Big Five — lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and the rare black rhino. The crater’s floor offers an incredible concentration of wildlife, with frequent sightings of zebras, wildebeests, hippos, flamingos, baboons, ostriches, cheetahs, and more.

As you explore this natural amphitheater, you’ll be surrounded by breathtaking scenery — sweeping grasslands, shimmering lakes, and the ever-changing play of clouds above the crater rim. Recognized as one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders, Ngorongoro is a place of unmatched beauty and wonder.

Later in the afternoon, you’ll drive to Farm of Dreams Lodge in Karatu, where you’ll enjoy dinner and a peaceful night’s rest.

After breakfast, meet your safari guide and depart for Lake Manyara National Park, a small yet remarkably diverse reserve named after its shimmering alkaline lake. The park’s seasonal waters attract thousands of flamingos and more than 500 bird species, making it a paradise for bird lovers.

As you explore, you’ll encounter an array of wildlife including elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalos, and playful troops of monkeys. If fortune smiles, you might even spot the park’s famous tree-climbing lions resting on the branches. Lake Manyara is also known for its contrasting landscapes, from lush forests and open plains to dramatic escarpments dotted with ancient baobab trees. After a rewarding game drive, you’ll make your way back to Arusha

Today marks the end of your unforgettable Tanzanian safari. After enjoying breakfast (or lunch, depending on your flight schedule), your driver will transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey.
